Romania, a brand-new destination for international polo: Singureni Manor Polo Cup returns with even more energy in 2025
The event will take place from 26 to 28 September 2025 at Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat
After the extraordinary success of the first edition, which was attended by over 2,800 spectators, the Singureni Manor Polo Cup is returning in 2025 with a new international polo competition. The event will take place from 26 to 28 September 2025 at Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat – a resort featured in the MICHELIN Guide hotel selection, located in Giurgiu County, just 40 km from Bucharest, right in the middle of a vast 700 hectares oak and acacia forest. Similar to the 2024 edition, this year’s competition will be part of the international circuit supported by World Polo – the organizer of other prestigious polo events, such as those in Dubai and St. Moritz.
Singureni Manor Polo Cup 2025 will bring, for the very first time in Romania, a special demonstrative match organized before the official start of the competition. The protagonists will be Romanians – members of the Singureni Polo Sports Club – people who, just one year ago, did not practice this sport but have since undergone an intensive training program. Their participation is evidence of the rapid development of the local community and also of the genuine passion for polo.

We brought together an enthusiastic community, people who fell irreversibly in love with this amazing sport and the interest of the public was beyond our expectations. Today we have at Singureni Manor Equestrian Retreat six horses specially trained for polo lessons – a tangible step toward developing the sport in Romania. I even began polo lessons myself and I attended one of the world’s most important polo events as a spectator because I wanted to ensure that the experience we offer in Romania meets the highest standards.”, declared Cristina Roșu, Founder of Singureni Polo Sports Club Association.
Reto Gaudenzi, Founder of World Polo, also declared: “The spirit of polo lies in tradition, passion, and progress. VIP tickets for the event are already available online and include exclusive access to the VIP zone, with perfect views of the field, an exceptional culinary experience by Singureni Manor team and a refined selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Public access will be allowed daily, starting with 13:00. There is a limited number of seats available for the event. Singureni Polo Sports Club was founded in 2024 and is an association dedicated to organizing and promoting equestrian polo activities for all Romanian citizens and beyond. The Club’s main objective is to popularize this branch of sport in Romania and to encourage participation in related athletic activities. This is achieved through the organization of training programs, athlete preparation for competitive events via dedicated camps and workshops, and the hosting of specialized competitions, all in accordance with the regulations and statutes of national and international sports federations.
World Polo is a company founded in 1987 by Reto Gaudenzi – an avid enthusiast and player of equestrian polo. Over the years, the company has hosted polo tournaments across snow, sand, and grass surfaces, including the 1987 European Championships in Berlin, the 1989 World Championships held on Berlin’s historic Maifeld field, the 1993 European Championships, and the 1995 World Championships in St. Moritz. Gaudenzi also introduced Beach Polo as a world first in Dubai, in collaboration with the Al Habtoor family. Later, he established the Beach Polo World Cup in Miami, which is now successfully organized by his son, Tito. The Snow Polo World Cup Kitzbühel is another of Gaudenzi’s creations. The event celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2023 and is now passionately managed by Tito Gaudenzi and his team.
