Europe’s top heritage awards honour 30 outstanding achievements from 24 countries
Today, the European Commission and Europa Nostra, the leading European heritage network, have unveiled the 30 winners of the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2025, an action co-funded under the EU’s Creative Europe Programme.
Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, Glenn Micallef, congratulated this year’s laureates: “Europe stands as a global cultural powerhouse. It is our duty and responsibility to ensure future generations can experience the richness and diversity of our heritage. The European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards not only reflect how cultural heritage is deeply valued in Europe, but they also celebrate and honour this legacy and the ongoing efforts of cultural professionals and volunteers working across the continent to safeguard and promote it. By advancing inclusivity, fostering solidarity, promoting international cooperation, and encouraging intergenerational dialogue, they embody the very essence of our European values. Congratulations to the winners for their outstanding achievement and essential contributions.”
The winners will be celebrated on 13 October at the European Heritage Awards Ceremony, a highlight of the European Cultural Heritage Summit 2025. The event, organised by Europa Nostra with the support of the European Commission, will take place from 12 to 14 October in Brussels. In addition, up to five Grand Prix laureates and the Public Choice Award winner, chosen from among this year’s 30 winning projects, will be announced during the award ceremony. They will receive €10,000 each.
