Bucharest Sculpture Days Returns with a Powerful Exploration of the Human Body
The 5th edition of Bucharest Sculpture Days will unfold between April 26 and May 11, offering visitors a thought-provoking contemporary sculpture and transmedia exhibition focused on the human figure in all its complexity. Hosted at the SENAT and The Institut Galleries, as well as the courtyard of the Plastic Fund Complex, the event explores the body as a space of tension between history and identity, norms and transformation.

Curated by Reka Csapo Dup, this year’s edition—titled #celalaltcorp (“the other body”)—challenges audiences to rethink the way we perceive the body. “There is a body we easily recognize… But there is also the other body. The body rewritten by trauma, love, identity… that does not fit into norms, but explodes into forms,” said Csapo Dup.
The exhibition invites viewers to go beyond surface appearances, with works that reflect both vulnerability and power, transformation and resistance.
The official opening will take place on April 26 at 6:00 PM. The exhibition is open daily from 12:00 to 6:00 PM, with free admission.
Organized by the Sculpture Branch of the Union of Fine Artists from Bucharest and supported by the Ministry of Culture, the event reaffirms the role of sculpture in exploring urgent social and cultural narratives.
