Irina Rimes and the Osoianu Sisters, Zdob și Zdub, Masters of Authentic Taste and Skilled Craftspeople at the Third Edition of the “Soul of Romania” Festival on the Royal Domain of Săvârșin

For the third consecutive year, on April 26 and 27, the Royal Domain of Săvârșin becomes a vibrant celebration of Romanian rural heritage, hosting the Soul of Romania Festival. The event will feature authentic taste artisans, traditional craftsmen ready to share their ancestral skills, and a lineup of performers for all generations.

Initiated by Profi, the Soul of Romania Festival brings together local small producers, workshops led by skilled artisans, an open-air Romanian film cinema, traditional dances, and concerts by Irina Rimes and the Osoianu Sisters, Zdob și Zdub, Emeric Imre Trio, and a Maria Tănase tribute performance by Mariano Castro & Alexandra Fits. Attendees will also enjoy a soul-stirring discussion between Father Constantin Necula and journalist Cătălin Striblea.

The official opening will take place on Saturday at 12:00 PM, following a tour of the local producers and artisans led by Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, His Royal Highness Prince Radu, Consort Prince of Romania, alongside local and central officials and Profi representatives.

Festival activity areas are named after symbols of traditional Romanian village life—from the Children’s Alley to the Village Fair, Inn of Merchants, and Craftsmen’s Lane.

Several NGOs supported by Profi in their mission to create positive change will be present, providing information and real-life examples of involvement in Culture, Education, Health, Environment, Sports, Innovation, and Community—the seven CSR pillars that guide Profi’s social responsibility initiatives. Profi is a top Romanian-born and grown retail chain.

Entry to the Soul of Romania Festival is free on April 26 and 27, between 12:00 and 19:00. Participation in all festival activities is also free, and access to the Royal Domain of Săvârșin is via the gate on DC74, in the Troaș Valley.

This is a family-friendly event, with dedicated workshops and surprises for children. To ensure hydration throughout the day, free still water stations will be available.

The Soul of Romania Festival invites the community to reconnect with authentic values, cherished tastes, and traditional customs through immersive experiences in a natural setting that recreates the charm of rural Romania. The Profi initiative is part of the “Growing Communities” tripartite agreement, signed in partnership with The Association of Her Majesty’s House, Mihai I University of Life Sciences of Timișoara, and Profi, aiming to support local producers and preserve authentic Romanian craftsmanship.

A Tradition of Supporting Local Producers

For Profi, community involvement is a long-standing tradition to which it devotes both time and resources, including the “Raftul cu Bunătăți Locale” (Shelf of Local Delights), the most extensive program supporting small local artisanal producers. Beyond being present on this shelf in Profi stores, local producers also showcase their stories and offerings on Via-Profi.ro, the largest and most awarded national platform for promoting Romanian flavors.

With over 28,000 employees, nearly 1,780 own and partner stores in more than 890 towns and villages, Profi is Romania’s largest private employer. Through its formats—PROFI SUPER, PROFI GO, and PROFI LOCO—the network offers about 5,000 products appreciated by the over 1.6 million daily customers, more than 94% of which come from Romanian partners.
