UniCredit Bank and Alpha Bank Romania announce that cardholders can use both banks’ ATMs under the same cost conditions.

Starting in April 2025, Alpha Bank Romania customers can use their cards to withdraw/deposit cash, check their balance, or perform other operations at UniCredit Bank* ATMs, under the same cost conditions that apply when using Alpha Bank ATMs. Likewise, UniCredit** customers have access to Alpha Bank Romania’s ATM network under the same cost conditions as those applicable to UniCredit Bank ATMs.
The two banks are in the process of merging, a process that began in November 2024 and is expected to be completed in the second half of this year.
“The teams of both banks are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition for Alpha Bank Romania customers as the merger progresses. We are pleased that Alpha Bank and UniCredit cardholders can now use an extended ATM network. This is another step forward toward our goal of becoming a stronger bank,” said Mihaela Lupu, CEO of UniCredit Bank.
Customers of both banks — individuals and companies — now have access to a network of nearly 900 ATMs across the country for conducting banking operations.
The merger process between the two banks is ongoing and represents the integration of two complementary institutions, both with long-standing relationships and expertise. The combined experience of UniCredit Bank and Alpha Bank Romania, in both the corporate and retail segments, will strengthen UniCredit’s position in the Romanian banking market.
