Starting in March, the Zi de BINE Association is launching BINE Împreună, an innovative project designed for teenagers to combat unhealthy eating habits and sedentary lifestyles through an educational and interactive competition. The project brings together 200 students from five high schools in Bucharest, who will take part in interactive challenges for 11 weeks, with the chance to win a €20,000 prize to improve their school.

The project is supported by Zi de BINE Association’s strategic partners: Lidl Romania, E.ON Romania Group, and Leroy Merlin.

The competition will culminate on May 25, 2025, with the Grand Final, where the winning team will receive the necessary support to bring about real change in their high school. The participating students come from five Bucharest high schools, each team being coordinated by a teacher. The schools involved in the project are:

  • Virgil Madgearu Economic College
  • Valter Mărăcineanu Technical College
  • Școala Centrală National College
  • Ion Creangă National College
  • Nicolae Tonitza High School of Fine Arts

The diversity of these institutions will add dynamism and creativity to the competition, encouraging idea exchange and the development of different perspectives on health and well-being.

Under the guidance of five renowned experts, teenagers will explore four essential pillars of a balanced lifestyle:

  • Healthy cooking – with Chef Răzvan Alexandru
  • Exercise and sports – led by Radu Restivan, founder of 321sport
  • Balanced nutrition – with advice from Dr. Diana Voica
  • Emotional education – sessions conducted by psychologists Marina Ionescu and Alina Pavel

“Mental and physical health during adolescence are key factors in leading a balanced life as an adult. According to the World Health Organization, adopting healthy habits from adolescence helps prevent diseases and improves long-term quality of life. Through the BINE Împreună program, we aim to motivate teenagers to make conscious health choices while offering them a fun and interactive experience,” said Melania Medeleanu and Luciana Zaharia, founders of the Zi de BINE Association.

As part of the project, students will take part in nutrition workshops and MasterChef-style cooking competitions, learning to prepare healthy and balanced meals under expert supervision. They will also engage in sports activities and physical challenges designed to encourage an active lifestyle. Additionally, they will benefit from emotional education sessions, where they will learn how to manage stress, emotions, and interpersonal relationships.

At the end of the 11 weeks, the team with the most points from the activities will win €20,000, which will be used to improve their school’s facilities, providing a real and lasting benefit to the school community.

Through BINE Împreună, the Zi de BINE Association is shaping a generation of young people aware of the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between mind and body. The project helps students develop self-confidence, teamwork skills, and the ability to make healthy decisions in an interactive and engaging way.

About Zi de BINE Association

The Zi de BINE Association aims to create communities, support thousands of people in vulnerable situations, and raise awareness around overlooked causes. The association supports a different NGO each month and encourages people to donate their birthday for a social project.

Its operating model is simple: at the beginning of each month, the supported cause is announced, along with its needs and beneficiaries. By the end of the month, donors receive updates on how their contributions were used and are invited to see the impact of their support.

If you have a project you believe in but haven’t found funding for yet, you can submit it on www.zidebine.ro.
