Today, on the 12th edition of the BVB Awards, the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) has granted 20 awards to listed companies, brokerage companies, as well as to private pension and investment funds for their achievements in 2024. The event, which spotlighted the performers of the local capital market in 2024, is organized following their achievements recorded in the previous year.

One of the most remarkable figures of last year is certainly the historical maximum number of transactions: 2.6 million transactions, which is 32% more than in 2023. This attests to the growing interest of Romanians for the Romanian capital market and we are confident that, together, we will increasingly foster the development of the investment culture. In a nutshell, the year 2024 for the Bucharest Stock Exchange was: RON 363 billion as total capitalization of listed companies, + 17.6% compared to 2023; RON 242 billion as capitalization of Romanian companies listed, + 5% compared to 2023; 226,057 stock exchange investors, at the end of December; the FIDELIS financing rounds drew in a record amount of RON 16.4 billion.
‘Looking back on 2024, we find that the reasons of satisfaction for the achievements on the Romanian capital market include the increase in the number of investors and of transactions, the evolution of capitalization of listed companies and the number of financing rounds. These achievements would not have been possible without the involvement of all stakeholders on the capital market. We have brought forward today, at the BVB Awards, the companies which stood out by achieving excellent performances in the development of the local market last year. Some of these are long-standing winners in their field, others are new names which excelled in 2024, when the premises were less optimistic. Congratulations to all capital market Performers of 2024, said Radu Hanga, President of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
All these achievements were made possible by the efforts of all the stakeholders on the Romanian capital market.
‘BVB Awards has been for 12 years not just the event that recognizes the achievements of stakeholders on the capital market, but also a good opportunity to meet and confirm once more the fact that, only together we can truly develop the local capital market. Year by year, we have proved, first to ourselves, and to the entire market that, only through tight collaboration can we carry on the projects already started or initiate new ones. 2024 was, the same as the year before, marred by uncertainties, especially towards the end of the year, but despite this situation, I think we can assert that the current stage of market development is advanced, owing to the common effort put in by all of us. Congratulations to all the companies which were awarded prizes today!’, stated Adrian Tănase, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
Of the 20 awards, three were decided by public vote from 10 to 19 February 2025, on the dedicated website bvbawards.ro, for ‘Excellence in journalism on the capital market in 2024’. Three journalists were thus designated by the public as winners of this category. For the fifth time, the award for ‘Best communication with journalists of an issuer in 2024’ was decided on by a jury of journalists covering the capital market, based on their experience and interaction with listed companies. We take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the public who voted and to the journalists who were part of the Jury!
