On Saturday, February 15, 2025, Romania’s Interim President, Ilie Bolojan, welcomed a delegation from the Romanian business community at Cotroceni Palace. The delegation included members of the Concordia Employers’ Confederation and the Romanian Business Leaders Foundation, according to a press release from the Presidential Administration sent to NINE O’CLOCK.

The meeting took place in response to the private sector’s need for clear messages and a well-defined perspective on Romania’s trajectory, given recent political and international developments.

Regarding the internal political landscape, they reiterated the necessity of adopting measures that ensure stability and predictability while improving the state’s capacity to implement reforms and investments effectively.
Additionally, they emphasized the importance of a more efficient absorption of European funds to support the economy and sustain ongoing investments.
During the discussions, concerns were raised about the impact of recent fiscal and budgetary measures, the sustainability of public finances, and the necessary changes for fostering a stronger domestic business environment.
Interim President Ilie Bolojan reaffirmed his openness to constructive dialogue between the private sector and policymakers on business-related issues and public policies affecting the economy. He also assured that, within his constitutional powers, he would take all necessary steps to ensure free, fair, and transparent elections and to restore public trust in state institutions.
The Interim President and business representatives agreed to maintain a constant dialogue and to organize regular consultations on key economic and institutional matters.
