Interview with Matteo Valdemarca, Export Manager presso Erba Vita – Valpharma Group
Nine O’Clock: Erba Vita – Valpharma Group has managed to establish itself in international markets in the pharmaceutical and healthcare What do you consider to be the key factors that have contributed to the company’s success abroad?
M V: “The success of Erba Vita in the foreign markets is certainly attributed to our forty years of experience in the business of phytotherapy and nutraceuticals, along with our continuous focus in maintaining high-quality standards; from the selection of raw materials to the finished product. Another important aspect is the customization of our formulas and packaging on request of the customer, and the Regulatory, Marketing and R&D support.”
Nine O’Clock: In the context of a globalized market, how does Erba Vita – Valpharma Group adapt to the requirements and regulations of different countries?
M V: “Erba Vita and Valpharma Group have an internal team dedicated to the regulatory aspects of the business. They provide all the documentation and are always up to date on the requirements and regulations of the target market. Collaboration with our partner is essential to receive recurring feedback on the Territory concerning regulations, and specific ministerial guidelines. The real challenge is to figure out in a short term what to do and how to proceed in compliance with the regulations of the Country.”
Nine O’Clock: How do you see the collaboration between Erba Vita and Farma Innovation evolving, and what benefits will this partnership bring to both parties?
M V: “We are confident that the collaboration between Erba Vita and Farma Innovation will bring mutual benefits in terms of grow in sales and brand reputation”
Nine O’Clock: In what ways do you think this collaboration contributes to product innovation and expansion into new markets?
M V: “It’s still too early to say, but we are sure that this collaboration will mutually help to better understand the customer’s needs. It will give us the opportunity to improve the products and its value. These improvements that could be potentially useful in other markets.”
Nine O’Clock: What recent projects or future plans do you have underway in collaboration with Farma Innovation?
M V: “The first step is to consolidate the list of items proposed today, and we hope to add new products in the next months, following the market demand. In the next years we are supposed to expand the distribution with Farma Innovation to neighboring countries.”
Nine O’Clock:. Erba Vita offers a wide portfolio of What are the most important product categories that have had the greatest impact on international markets, and what trends have you observed in demand for these products in recent years?
M V: “It depends. There are several therapeutic areas that may generate interest. Currently, the most requested ones are: gastrointestinal health, cardiovascular system, women’s health, immune defenses, joints and muscles, and the digestive system. Specifically, there is an increased demand and interest in the GCC countries for the Gastrointestinal, Metabolic, and Woman lines.”
Nine O’Clock: Given the diversity of international markets in which you operate, how do you identify the specific needs of consumers in different regions, and how do you adapt Erba Vita’s products to meet these demands?
M V: “We identify the specific needs of consumers, thanks to our partners’ feedback who daily operates in the Territory, attending the most important fairs, business events and doing internal market researches. One of our key points is flexibility; we can customize the formula, the packaging, the graphics. Features that give us the opportunity to adapt our products to meet the demands in different regions.”
Nine O’Clock: As an Export Manager, what do you consider to be the biggest challenges related to the logistics and international distribution of products?
M V: “We have not been experiencing any particular logistic and distribution issue. Every detail of the shipment is carefully monitored with experience to guarantee the best possible service thanks to our Export Department and external collaborators. The distribution is managed in cooperation with our Partner which has a key role in the Country. Communication between the parties is essential in these situations.”
Nine O’Clock: As the global market for health and nutrition products continues to grow, what international expansion plans does Erba Vita – Valpharma Group have for the next 3- 5 years?
M V: “We are confident Erba Vita will consolidate its presence in Romania and in Europe, but also in China and United States. Today we have a branch in USA with the Group Valpharma. We are launching next month 5 products dedicated to the American market on Amazon USA. Moreover, within 2026 we are supposed to move to the new headquarters, a true pharmaceutical hub that will finally house all the companies and facilities of the Group in one place.”
