Since 2009, the Royal Margareta of Romania Foundation has developed the Young Talents national program, offering 440 scholarships to students from vocational education institutions who needed support to reach their full potential and express their talent. This financial aid for artistic development was complemented by intergenerational mentorship, promotion, and international cultural exchanges. As a result, many of the scholarship recipients initially supported by the Foundation and its partners have flourished in the world of visual arts, achieving national and international recognition and successful artistic careers.

With the Talent 35 anniversary exhibition, for the first time, 52 young visual artists supported by the Royal Foundation will showcase their works at Romania’s most prestigious museum—the National Museum of Art of Romania, housed in the Royal Palace in Bucharest. The artistic explorations of these young artists over the years now come together in a collection of 91 works created using various techniques, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation, fashion design, illustration, and scenography. The exhibition will be open to the public from January 18 to February 23, 2025.

During the opening event, the Talent 35 Contemporary Art Album will be launched—a selection of 72 artworks by emerging young artists who now share their talent with the world. The album is coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Carmen Apetrei.

On January 18, 1990, guided by King Michael, Her Majesty Margareta and Her Royal Highness Princess Sofia initiated the first humanitarian actions upon their arrival in Romania. Over 35 years, the Royal Margareta of Romania Foundation has developed numerous sustainable projects in education, culture, community development, and civil society, contributing to Romania’s spiritual and social renewal.

On its 35th anniversary, the Royal Margareta of Romania Foundation continues its mission to support and promote emerging artists and broaden their cultural horizons through the bilateral initiative Talent 35 – Supporting and Promoting Emerging Artists and Contemporary Art, carried out in partnership with Nedland Kultur from Norway. This initiative aims to support contemporary art and emerging artists, raise awareness of cultural diversity, and strengthen cultural cooperation and exchange between Romania and Norway.
