Longshield Investment Group marks its brand debut with a new identity and stock symbol on the Bucharest Stock Exchange

Starting October 21, 2024, shares of Longshield Investment Group, an established investment fund in the Romanian capital market, are traded on the Bucharest Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol LONG.

Longshield Investment Group implemented a new brand identity beginning in March 2024, which included changing the company’s name from SIF Muntenia to Longshield Investment Group. The company, listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) for a quarter of a century, started trading under the new symbol LONG as a result of its rebranding process completed at the end of March 2024. To celebrate the launch under the new identity, an event was held at the BVB headquarters with company representatives and exchange officials.

“We are marking today not just the concrete change of the trading ticker symbol LONG, but also the end of an era for the old Financial Investment Companies. The former SIF Muntenia – now Longshield Investment Group – is the last of the five entities that, by completing this transformation process today, also achieve a symbolic transition, becoming, visually, a competitive and sophisticated fund, perfectly adapted to the current expectations and dynamics of the capital market,” stated Adrian Simionescu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of SAI Muntenia Invest, the administrator of Longshield Investment Group S.A.

“The history of the company that was recently named SIF Muntenia and is now becoming Longshield Investment Group is closely linked to the capital market and implicitly to the Bucharest Stock Exchange, considering the 25-year period that both companies have navigated together as partners. Longshield Investment Group is not just an issuer; it is also a partner of the exchange and the Romanian capital market ecosystem, as well as an important institutional investor at the BVB. I would like to thank you for everything you have done so far and wish you success for the future we are about to write together,” said Radu Hanga, President of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

“The capital market can only develop with active involvement from all stakeholders. We are not alone in this endeavor; we have partners alongside us who drive the continuous development of the ecosystem around the capital market, and Longshield Investment Group is part of this ecosystem. Longshield Investment Group is an active supporter of the exchange, and I would like to mention its involvement in the Central Counterparty project. As an issuer, we are talking about a company whose capitalization has increased 65-fold over the 25 years on the stock exchange, and if we also consider the dividends distributed during this period, we see a total return exceeding 10,000%. The symbolism of today’s event, debuting on the exchange under a new ticker symbol and a new identity, means much more than a rebranding process; it signifies a new approach, competitiveness, and alignment with market trends. I wish you much success, and as I have said before, your success is also ours, so I hope you continue to make inspired investment decisions,” stated Adrian Tanase, CEO of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
