The event celebrated 30 years of Strabag in Romania and the “Work on Progress” campaign and sustainability platform.

“Work on Progress” reflects the company’s commitment to become climate neutral along the entire value chain by 2040. The campaign is already in place in the German speaking markets of STRABAG, including Austria, Germany, Switzerland, followed by the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania, said Mr. Alfred Watzl Member of the Management Board.
The construction sector is responsible for about 38 percent of total global CO2 emissions – 28 percent operational emissions attributed to the day-to-day operation of buildings and 10 percent embodied carbon emissions from the production of building materials in conjunction with the construction of buildings and other structures.
In this context, STRABAG has made it its mission to become climate neutral along the entire value chain by 2040 and – together with external partners –to make construction more sustainable and resource-efficient.
STRABAG’s strategy highlights the company’s economic, environmental and social footprint on three main pillars: people, planet and innovation. As such, the company has outlined a robust decarbonisation strategy that emphasises environment friendly materials, resource efficiency and recycling, as well as specific design elements to reduce waste and limit negative environmental impact.
