The President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR), Mr. Mihai Daraban, had, on September 10 this year, an official meeting with H.E. “I particularly appreciate the initiative of the Turkish Embassy in Romania to dynamize and intensify the cooperation between the two states, both on a commercial and investment level, especially considering the fact that at the CCIR level there is a permanent concern for supporting the access of Romanian companies to the markets extracommunity. During today’s meeting, we established the organization of a Romania-Turkey business forum at the end of October this year, in Bucharest, an event that will take place on the sidelines of the Joint Commission for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (JETCO). The end of October is an opportune moment for this forum to be held, at the same time the INDAGRA international fair, the largest event of the agricultural industry in South-East Europe, is in full swing at the Romexpo Exhibition Center” said the president of CCIR, Ms Mihai Daraban.

H.E. Mr. Ozgur Kivanc Altan, the Ambassador of Turkey to Romania, noted that in 2023, the value of trade between the two countries was almost 9.5 billion euros, with a trade deficit from our country of over 3.3 billion of euros. In the opinion of His Excellency, Romania must find solutions in terms of increasing exports to Turkey, on the model of the volume of the exchange of services which, in the last year, succeeded in reducing the deficit by 35 million euros.

The President of the Romania-Turkey Business Council, Mr. Ali Kibar, made, through the CCIR, an appeal to the Romanian authorities to simplify the procedures for obtaining work permits, considering the increased interest of Turkish companies in terms of expanding business in Romania.
