Bucharest Stock Exchange capitalization drops 3.7% in the past week

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) experienced a decrease in capitalization by nearly 13 billion lei, or 3.72%, during the week of September 2 – 6, 2024, falling from 348.576 billion lei to 335.619 billion lei. Despite this decline, trading activity surged with a 94.70% increase in the value of transactions compared to the previous week.

The total turnover from stock trades reached 259.05 million lei, up from 133.056 million lei the week before. The main index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BET, closed the week at 17,388.74 points.

The most liquid stocks on the main segment of the BVB were those of Fondul Proprietatea, with transactions amounting to 49.881 million lei and a price increase of 0.42%. Other significant trades included Bank Transilvania shares, with transactions of 42.014 million lei (-4.00%), and OMV Petrom shares, totaling 38.380 million lei (-4.90%).

Notable gains were recorded for UCM Reșița shares (+8.09%), Romcab shares (+4.08%), and Bittnet Systems shares (+2.62%).
