The permanent offices of both Chambers of Parliament in Romania have set the minimum and maximum levels for basic salaries within the parliamentary offices of deputies and senators.
According to the adopted resolution, the minimum limit for the basic salary is the nationally guaranteed minimum gross wage, set at 3,300 lei. On the other end, the maximum limit for the basic salary is the basic salary of the equivalent position used in the dignitary’s cabinet.
Here’s a breakdown of the maximum basic salaries for various positions:
- Counselor: Up to 8,605 lei
- Expert: Up to 7,574 lei
- Consultant and Chief of Staff: Up to 6,079 lei
- Chief of Staff and Referee: Ranging from 5,572 lei to 5,169 lei
- Driver: Ranging from 5,036 lei to 3,301 lei
This decision aims to implement the provisions of the framework law 153/2017 regarding the remuneration of personnel paid from public funds. It correlates with Government Decision 900/2023, which establishes the guaranteed minimum gross wage, Emergency Ordinance 115/2023 on certain fiscal-budgetary measures, Emergency Ordinance 127/2023, and the Labor Code.
