Vlad Voiculescu Affirms Transparency in COVID Case; Denies Health Ministry Involvement

Vlad Voiculescu, asserts that full transparency in the COVID vaccine case would unequivocally reveal the truth. According to him, there has been no progress in the investigation concerning COVID vaccines, and making the case public would clarify matters completely.

When questioned about Pfizer’s lawsuit against the Romanian Government, Voiculescu emphasised that the contracts were concluded without the Health Ministry’s consultation, orchestrated by former Prime Minister Florin Citu and Valeriu Gheorghita, the former President of the National Committee for Coordinating Activities on Vaccination against SARS-CoV-2.

Voiculescu stated, “Firstly, it’s a private company that obviously looks after its interests. Then, when you ask me about payments made or not made to a private company, you’re asking about contracts that were concluded. You should ask who concluded those contracts, and I can tell you it was Mr. Gheorghita and Mr. Citu, without the involvement of the Ministry of Health. I’ve said it publicly dozens of times, but I repeat it as many times as necessary. This is also evident from the evidence in the case, a case I had the chance to review. So, unfortunately, there was no involvement from the Ministry of Health.”

He criticised the former premier and Gheorghita for not utilising enough vaccines and failing to donate or resell part of them. Voiculescu asserted that the Health Ministry was excluded from the process.

Voiculescu revealed that he hadn’t interacted with prosecutors in the last month and a half but had access to the case. He plans to submit a memorandum to the prosecutor, indicating that he wasn’t involved in the vaccination process.

In his words, “In the past month and a half, I’ve had access to the case. The details in the case are so clear that I believe the prosecutor needs to do a few things: to check and have discussions, primarily with those who handled the vaccination, namely Mr. Gheorghita. Do you know how many hearings have been held in this case until today or until the end of November? Zero. The first thing I will ask the prosecutor, which I will convey in a memorandum in the coming weeks to make things very clear, is to talk again with those who handled the vaccination.”

Voiculescu emphasised the exclusion of the Ministry of Health from the process in February 2021, and he learned about the acquisitions with the written consent of PM Florin Citu in March.

He expressed his desire for the case to progress quickly and be made public. Voiculescu urged the prosecutor to verify the records of the Government meetings in March 2021 for clarity.
