Side Meetings and Informal Discussions:
On the sidelines of the FAC meeting, an informal breakfast is planned with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, S. H. Shoukry, in preparation for the tenth meeting of the EU-Egypt Association Council on January 23, 2024. Discussions regarding Russia’s aggression against Ukraine are crucial ahead of the extraordinary European Council meeting on February 1, 2024. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba will address the assembly via video-conference to provide insights into the on-ground situation. The EU-27 session will involve European foreign ministers discussing the EU’s long-term support for Ukraine, as communicated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Comprehensive Exchange of Opinions:
The meeting’s agenda also features a comprehensive exchange of opinions on the challenging current situation in the Middle East. Formal debates in the EU-27 format and informal discussions with the participation of multiple foreign ministers from the region are planned.
