During the meeting with the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu conveyed on behalf of Romania a message of solidarity to the people and authorities of the State of Israel and firmly condemned the terror attacks, antisemitism, and hate speech.

“The Romanian society, the community of Israelis in Romania, and the community of Romanians in Israel mourn with you, Mr Prime Minister, the innocent victims, women, children, and young people in their prime, following Hamas’ terror attacks. I convey our compassion for such high losses of human life and for the many injured, among whom, tragically, there were also citizens of Romanian origin”, stated the Head of Romanian Executive.

Prime Minister pointed out that democratic values protection and human rights observance are essential for rapid cessation of violence.

“The Romanian Government wants a lasting peace in this region, where an important Romanian community is living with whom we are in close contact. We are ready to provide emergency assistance at any moment if needed. Together with the international community, Romania calls for the immediate release of all hostages and kidnapped persons and the refraining from any further act of aggression, in particular against civilian targets” added the Romanian Prime Minister who also called for facilitating humanitarian corridors for Gaza and the provision of necessary assistance for the refugees.

Prime Minister Ciolacu also met with representatives of the Romanian community who were affected by the security situation in the region. ” I stand by you and I kindly ask you to stay confident that we will do everything possible to offer you support and security”, the Prime Minister conveyed to the Romanian citizens in Israel.
