Distribuție Oltenia completed new investments in Gorj county for the benefit of more than 3700 consumers in Motru and Târgu Cărbunești

The operator Distribuție Oltenia continues to implement its investment and modernisation plan for the electricity distribution network in Gorj County. DEO has completed new works to upgrade the low voltage networks to medium voltage and improve the continuity of electricity supply to consumers, worth more than 2.4 million RON.
The beneficiaries of the modernisation projects are:
- 2641 consumers from Motru;
- 1137 consumers from Târgu Cărbunești.
What has been achieved through investment:
- Switching from low voltage to medium voltage networks in the Micro 2 area supplying Arțarului, Macului and Frasinului, Magnoliilor and Gladiolelor streets in Motru;
- Improving the continuity of electricity supply to the 20 kV Cărbunești – IAS and 20 kV Cărbunești 3 electrical power lines, supplying 11 transformer stations and the treatment plant in Târgu Cărbunești.
The benefits for consumers in the areas concerned by the upgrading works include:
- reducing technical energy losses;
- ensuring the continuity of electricity supply to all consumers in conditions of quality of electricity parameters;
- reducing the number of interruptions/ outages and their duration.
The operator Distribuție Oltenia will continue this year investments in the distribution network, for which it has allocated a budget of over 30 700 thousand RON investment expenditure (CAPEX) and over 28 600 thousand RON commissioning (PIF).
By the end of June, the operator Distribuție Oltenia plans to complete investment works worth more than 8 700 thousand RON in the area of Târgu Jiu, Godinești, Magherești, Târgu Cărbunești and Covrigi.
In addition, by the end of August, the operator will invest more than 1 600 thousand RON in upgrading overhead power lines throughout its operational area by installing remote-controlled equipment.
